Dorothy and Edward J. McDonald

* A Biographay of your Editors, Dorothy and Edward McDonald *

Dorothy and Edward McDonald are editors for the AAA Alternative Health Tips ezine. They are retired and live part time in Venice, Florida and part time in Madison, Ct. Dorothy is a former Reading Specialist and Consultant having graduated from Conn. College (New London, Ct.) and done lots of graduate work in the field of Reading. Ed graduated as a Chemical Engineer from Yale and worked as a plastics engineer for a large part of his career.

It was Ed’s exposure to the plastic fumes that brought them to the alternative health field 22 years ago. Ed developed problems with following directions and spatial orientation. The search for help took two years but led them to Dr. Marshall Mandell M.D.(now retired) from Norwalk, CT. where he specialized in helping people who had problems because of their chemical exposure. There were 7 M.D.’s in the United States pioneering in this field 22 years ago. This was our introduction to the field of alternative health.

We realized there had to be something wrong with what we were doing so when Dr. Michael Janson of Cambridge, MA opened an office for orthomolecular medicine we were one of the first to have our blood analyzed for nutritional deficiencies. We began to take vitamins especially B-6 and noticed an improvement in our health.

Eventually we read in the Prevention magazine about a course in Nutritional Consulting being offered by Dr. William Kelly. Dr. Kelly had cancer and been given two months to live. He went to Europe and studied the alternative methods. Then he proceeded to heal himself of cancer. Now he was offering to train others in the methods he had learned. Through that we learned that healing is holistic. We have tried just about all the different disciplines - chiropractic, fasting, detoxification, acupuncture, nutritional programs, and last but not least spiritual healing. We are fast becoming experts in our understanding of how the spirit affects our physical and mental health.

It has been a long road and we have gained a lot of wisdom in the process. Everything we have tried has worked for us. Some 10%; others 50%. One of the nutritional supplements that we have received great benefit from has been Morinda’s Tahitian Noni Juice.

Dorothy had her 72nd birthday this past week and feels better than she did when she was 30 years old and suffering from hypoglycemia. Ed is 76 years old and while still working at getting the chemicals out of his body is now getting free enough of the problems they caused to be able to enjoy life.

We want to encourage all of you to look for your answers. The answers are there. That we know. You just have to be open to them when they are placed in front of you. And we want you to know you can always be healthier than you are right now.
