*What If It Doesn't Work For Me?*

*When You Have a Health Problem What Do You Do?*
Do you hear about a particular supplement and try it only to
find it doesn't work for you? Don't we all look for the magic
bullet--the one supplement that will take away the symptoms and
put the problem behind us? Those of you who have been reading
these Alternative Health Tips from the beginning may have noticed
that thus far we have spoken of individual food sensitivities
that cause symptoms and problems. As we read on in Dr. Lendon
Smith's book, "Feed Your Body Right" we see that when he makes
recommendations for what to do for a specific problem he does not
give us the magic bullet. He gives us a lot of different things to do.
*What Different Kinds of Recommendations Does Dr. Smith Make?*
One of our subscribers has asked for help with a psoriasis
problem. We can learn about 10 different kinds by looking at
Dr. Smith's recommendations for this skin condition.
1. Foods not to eat: meat, dairy, sugar, junk food.
2. Foods to eat: eat a raw diet.
3. Vitamins to take: A, E, C, folic acid, B complex, and B12
4. Minerals to take: magnesium and zinc
5. Essential fatty acids
6. Proteolytic enzymes:
7. Herbs: dandelion, goldenseal, yellow dock, sarsaparilla, and burdock.
8. Natural food supplements: Lecithin
9. The recommendations from Dr. Smith's Life Balances program
which are supplements that balance the chemistry.
10. In addition Dr. Smith recommends the natural fruit juice--Noni
Juice--which is very effective for skin problems.
*What Does Each Recommendation Accomplish?*
Each of the recommendations mentioned above is there for a specific reason.
1. The foods not to eat because they interfere with the assimilation of nutrients.
2. The foods to eat because they in the raw form are most likely
to do the most to heal the body.
3. The vitamins because they are the particular ones needed for healthier skin.
4. The minerals in some cases because they feed the skin or
assist in the assimilating process.
5. Fatty acids to assist in the assimilation of the nutrients.
6. Enzymes because they help break down proteins.
7, 8 and 10. Noni, lecithin, and herbs because they have been
found to assist in improving this particular condition.
9. Supplements that balance the chemistry because some minerals
are not assimilated unless the chemistry is the right one.
*Which of these recommendations do you follow?*
You can see many factors enter into the healing process. Have
you ever said, "I tried it and it didn't work." If you do not
get the results you want you need to consider trying others on
the list. It may be that one of the others will work for you and
be just what your body needs.
*Something To Think About*
Have you ever heard it's not what you take in but what you
assimilate? Can you see if assimilation is your problem you
could follow a lot of the recommendations and not experience the
results you are looking for? That's why you need to be aware of
the different recommendations and what each one will do.
