Vitamin C (an acid) and Calcium Influence Our Blood Pressure
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
(Excerpts from chapter 14 of "Feed Your Body Right" by Dr. Lendon
Smith, M.D. of television fame.)
Accumulation of data reveals there is a direct relationship of
C and calcium, which regulates the viscosity of the blood.
*When Does Vitamin C and Calcium Make the Blood Thicker?*
Near the equator where the year-round warm temperature provides
sunshine and lots of vegetation, the plants have a high
concentration of vitamin C and vinegar. These acids, ascorbic
and acetic, make the minerals, calcium, magnesium, zinc,
phosphorus soluble and usable. The blood, therefore, becomes
more acidic, thicker, and nutrient-rich. *The blood pressure tends to be lower*.
*When Does Vitamin C and Calcium Make the Blood Thinner?*
In the northern climes, with less sunshine and less vegetation,
the C, and the acetic acid are less abundant, and the calcium
collects and stores up in the tissue and the joints slowing
down the circulation. The blood tends to become more alkaline,
thinner, and less nutrient-rich. *The Blood Pressure tends to become higher*.
*Should We Take Extra Calcium?*
Women who take extra calcium to avoid the ravages of
osteoporosis, are setting themselves up for elevated blood
pressure and a stroke rather than a fall and a broken hip.
*Should We Be Eating A Vegetarian Diet?
We are seeing many people with very low blood pressure because
of the higher consumption of vegetables. The final product of
vegetable metabolism in the body is vinegar. This removes
sodium from their bodies. They tend to have lower blood pressure and smaller bones.
*Do We Or Do We Not Take Less Salt?*
Not everyone should follow the recommendation of the American
Heart Association and reduce their intake of salt. Everyone
needs to have some salt in their diet, especially those with
low blood pressure. When salt is restricted or eliminated from
the diet, people tend to have more infections and bone disorders.
*How Does Milk Affect our Circulation?*
When milk is eliminated from the diet, the result is an abnormal
imbalance of calcium, phosphorus, and magnesium, which affects
the circulation. Long-term calcium restriction is shown by no
visible veins and poor circulation. Longer-term and heavy use of
milk is shown by protruding veins and hypertension.
*What should we do about salt and milk?*
Moderate ingestion of salt and milk with adequate vitamin C and
vinegar results in general good health and circulation.
*Something To Think About*
Proper eating of all types of food does more to correct the
problems than therapy with medication.

* Ren Smith in his testimony on Noni juice states the
following about his high blood pressure.
"Because I have high blood pressure I have been on medication for
a number of years. The first part of November I noticed my blood
pressure was getting too low (98/56) and I was getting lightcaded.
I decided to stop taking one of my blood pressure medications,
Procardia. Within a few weeks my blood pressure was still too low
and I stopped taking all my blood pressure medication since the
first of November. Now my blood pressure readings are 120/78.
The only thing I am doing differently is drinking Noni Juice."
