*Editor's Comments*
When we report on a particular subject we often present only one
part of the total picture. That doesn't mean that other parts of
the total picture are not good. We assume you - our subscribers
- are intelligent people who will take the information we are
giving you integrate it with your own knowledge and experience.
take what works for you, and look further for information that
will prove or disprove what we have shared.

Our own experience does not necessarily support all that the
experts in the field have written. They are writing from their
own experience. For example, I am definitely not a vegetarian.
But I know there are those of you who have learned that is the
only diet that works for you. We are all individualistic and
what works for one will not work in the same way for another. The
information we present in these newsletters will, however, get
you to think about what works for you.

*Foods Affect Our Health*

(The contents of this article is taken from Dr. Lendon Smith's
notes on what other health professionals have written about this
subject. As you read factor in what the information tells you
with your own experience. Also think about why the author chose to make those remarks.)

*What Is The Best Diet?*
Primitive man ate meat. Man is still a carnivore.
Voegtlin, Primitive Man and the Diet

The high level of potassium in the diets of hunter-gatherers kept
them healthy. "There is evidence that primitive populations
suffer relatively low rates of many degenerative diseases
compared, at least, to the more affluent of modern societies."
Mark Nathan Cohen, Professor of Anthropology, State University of
New York at Plattsburgh, Health and the Rise of Civilization, Yale University Press, CT, 1989.

*Is It Our Food That Makes Us Sick?*
"The fact is there is only one major disease, and that is
malnutrition. All ailments and afflictions to which we may become
heir are directly traceable to this major disease.' Dr. C.W. Cavanaugh, Cornell University.

*How good is the Western diet?*
'Our way of life is related to our way of death' or more
poetically 'we are digging our graves with our teeth."'
Patrick Quillen, Ph.D., From the Harvard Framingham study,

*Is There Evidence To Support The Belief That Junk Foods Are Bad?*
All the students who dropped out of the university reported poor
diets: coffee, candy, cookies, assorted soft drinks, pastries,
ice cream, boxed cereals, noodles, spaghetti, macaroni, and white bread.
Robert T. Bagley, Ph.D., in 3. Ortho Psych, vol.10, #4.

*How Do Poor Eating Habits Affect Our Health?*
Irresponsible lifestyles cause toxins to build up in the body.
The body becomes deranged by abuses and cannot digest and
metabolize good sources of nutrition. The Power To Heal, Dr. Rob Krankovitz, MD.

*Is Anything Being Done With Our Foods To Make Them Less Harmful
And More Nutritious?*

Many farmers are using fewer pesticides and adding more nutrients to the soil.
Buffalo burgers are higher in protein and lower in cholesterol
and total fat than beef. Buffalo meat does not need to be cooked
as long as beef. NY Newsday, April 19, 1988.

*Does Noni Juice work for everyone?*

Nothing - whether a vitamin or a prescription drug - works for
everyone. Consider some of the reasons why a nutritional
supplement will work for some people and not for others.

* Some people need more and some people need less. So when we
say it (meaning Noni Juice or any other herb or vitamin) didn't
work we may be saying I didn't take enough of it for a long enough period of time.
* We may be saying we did not see visible improvements but forget
they we may have moved from getting worse to not getting worse.
* Also we may need more at one time in our healing process and less
after our tissues have become saturated.
* Sometimes a supplement often helps people heal without their
being consciously aware of the healing. For example when a
supplement increases the strength of our immune system, makes us
physically stronger, clears up our thinking processes, or makes
us calmer, we may not be immediately aware of these changes.
* Other times healing takes place but we do not attribute the
credit to the supplements we are taking.

Noni Juice also works for those who are medically healthy by
increasing our sense of wellbeing, energy, enthusiasm, and
resistance to disease. It makes whatever is already good even better.
