*Medical Practice In The Old Days*
by Lendon M. Smith, M.D.

My Dad was a pediatrician in the 1920's and 1930's when making
house calls and sitting by the bedside was routine. He even
believed that the large thymus was the cause of the Sudden Infant
Death syndrome; this big gland squashed the windpipe and
suffocated those babies. (!) He had mothers bring the infants to
the office so he could fluoroscope them. If he thought the thymus
was enlarged he had an X radiologist zap it to shrink it. Result?
It made no difference in the incidence of SIDS. Dad ended up
with cancer of his fingers and half of them had to be amputated.
Some of those babies grew up to have cancer of their thyroid
glands. So much for science in the 1920s and 1930's.

If a child had much phlegm from a milk sensitivity, he had him
visit an ENT doctor who would suck out the sinuses, cauterize the
mucosa with silver nitrate, and recommend nose drops. Dad used
the corn starch enema for stomach trouble and aspirin and bed
rest for sickness in general. If a child was very sick with a
high fever from a strep infection, he would withdraw three
teaspoonfuls of blood from the father and inject that into the
baby's buttocks (for the gamma globulin effect); it was helpful,
but sensitized the child to Rh+ blood.

So we have come a long way since those early days. You can see
how delighted the doctors in those days were to have antibiotics
to control osteomyelitis, pyelitis, pneumonia, rheumatic fever,
and even tuberculosis. The promise of the antibiotics was so
compelling, that everyone wanted some of it, even for colds. The
answer to sickness was at hand. What a great time to get into
medical school. I started in 1943 and heard all the good news
about the end of diseases as we had known them. We would have the
vaccinations to prevent the diseases, and then if something
slipped into the patient, we would bail him out with the
appropriate antibiotic, and, if we could not remember which one,
the pharmaceutical rep was there to tell us and even leave some
samples. We were in the catbird seat.

Could you use a miracle?

After two years of hearing us talk about Noni Juice my
brother-in-law called and said order me a case (4 bottles) of
Noni Juice. Why should he finally decide to try it? Because he
and his wife have had colds for two weeks and can't shake them.
At least he is smart enough to know that when what you're doing
isn't working it's time to change what you're doing.

Try
Noni juice and see why they are calling it the miracle juice from Tahiti.
