Listening to news of hurricane Floyd and thinking of all of you who are in her path. We'll save this issue for a day or two so you will be able to be on line to receive it.

This week's issue is for all of us. It is an overview of what Dr. Smith has learned from his many years as an M.D. I think you will find it tremendously interesting and valuable advice. My husband and I have learned the very same things in our 23 years in the alternative-health field.

It's in two parts so some of you will find more of interest in Part Two.

If you are new to the alternative health field, I can tell you that those of us who have had experience in this field have found Dr. Smith's advice to be right on target.

I can't think of anyone who would not appreciate receiving this newsletter so forward it right now to those you care about.

*** The Best Thing You Can Do For Yourself ***
(Taken from Dr. Lendon Smith's notes and edited by Dorothy Q. McDonald.)

** What Is The Very Most Important Thing? **

The best thing for your children --- and yourself --- is to give yourself a superior immune system. The optimal immune system is the key to preventing the faulty family genes from showing up before one arrives at his 101st birthday. Scientific researchers are finding that Noni juice - the product your sponsors distribute does a good job of supporting your immune system. Prevention is the key.

** What Might Mothers Do To Ensure A Healthy Baby? **

* Mothers should take extra vitamins, minerals, and supplements. * Mothers should avoid stress during the pregnancy. * Home delivery might be the best and safest. Home birthers do not use invasive techniques. They do not assume that the pregnancy is a disease. * Mothers should consider breast feeding their babies for at least the first year. * They should try to massage their baby daily. * They might let their baby crawl and creep and not put them in the walker.

** What Might Babies Eat And Drink? **

* Mothers should avoid giving solids until the baby is at least eight-months-old. * They should avoid the immunizations. * If the doctor insists, and you are afraid he will throw you out of his practice, at least take extra vitamin C, B6, and calcium, the day before, the day of and the day after those shots. Maybe they can be postponed until age two years; * After the baby's teeth erupt, try to have much of her/his diet as raw as possible;

** What Should The Rest of Us Do? **

* We should get in the habit of drinking fresh, clean, non-chlorinated, non-fluoridated water daily. * We want to avoid soda pop and soft drinks. * We might aim for about the number of ounces of water as the number of kilograms of weight you are. (One hundred pounds of weight is about 50 Kgs. Drink 50 ounces of water daily --- about two quarts.) * We might try to be as vegetarian as we can; poultry and fish may be the best protein choices, but beans, soy foods (tofu, tempeh, miso), and whole grains can do it also. Oat bran is worth eating. (I am a semi-vegetarian; I eat animals that eat vegetables.) You might do better if you graze, or nibble, good foods five times a day.

** Your sponsors are Noni juice distributors **

In order to survive, the body requires a substance known as xeronine. Noni Juice supplies the body with Proxeronine- which is a building block for Xeronine.

When noni is eaten, proxeronine combines with an enzyme called proxeroninase in the intestine and the result is xeronine.

An inadequate supply of xeronine in the body means that illness is prolonged and injuries are slower in returning to normal. As a result, a good source of supplemental proxeronine is needed.
